Welcome Remarks from Principal.

We welcome you to our Website where you can view relevant information that will assist you in making a determination on a new career, a career change to Health Safety and Environment (HSE), or a pathway to enhancing your present academic achievements in HSE.

With the increasing demands for qualified, knowledgeable and competent practitioners and professionals within Trinidad & Tobago and the wider Caribbean region, the College, which is a registered institution with the Accreditation Council of Trinidad & Tobago (ACTT), is strategically well-positioned to provide specialist training in HSE, consistent with the requirements of the OSH Act 2006.


Additionally, the objectives of our academic programmes continue to contribute to the vision of the national development thrust. The major programmes are executed through the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), which is based in the UK. NEBOSH was founded in 1979 as an Independent awarding body attracting over 15,000 candidates each year. It has a solid, professional reputation and is the leading body of its kind in the UK and Europe.


Our College provides a range of HSE related programmes for those wishing to gain internationally recognized certification in these work-place/all industry relevant disciplines.

We hold accreditation with NEBOSH for the :-

National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety;

National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety;

Certificate in Construction Health and Safety and the

Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management,

and accreditation with City & Guilds for the delivery of The Skills Certificate in Health & Safety.

In addition to realizing the College’s Mission and Vision as a leader in HSE education and training , nationally and regionally, the institution also aims to continuously improve its internal quality standards and those stipulated by its regulatory bodies.

We at the College of Health Environmental & Safety Studies are confident that our academic and support staff, training facilities, overall professionalism and experience as factors of our overall Quality Management System, will provide the appropriate framework for success in our programme delivery, particularly student satisfaction, in keeping with our corporate strategic objectives.
