TOWARDS QUALITY ENHANCEMENT
1.
Background
The College of Health
Environmental & Safety Studies
(CHESS College) has been established
to provide a comprehensive range of part-time
programmes in Occupational Health and Safety and
other Environmental related disciplines from
certificate to degree levels. At present we offer
certificate and diploma qualifications. The
College’s delivery venues are based at San Fernando
and St Augustine.
The College has developed close
links with numerous organisations and institutions.
It has also established academic partnerships with
the National Examination Board in Occupational
Safety and Health (NEBOSH) UK.
The cornerstone of CHESS
College’s Programmes is its delivery of NEBOSH
programmes which are internationally recognized.
Although the programmes conducted carry vocationally
related awards, the National Qualifications
Framework (NQF) permits comparison with academic
qualifications.
The College has recently
developed and is progressively implementing a
documented Quality Management System, in keeping
with ISO 9001-2000 standards, designed to ensure
that specified educational, training and support
requirements are met.
College Management is committed
to determining that customer requirements are met
with the aim of enhancing customer satisfaction.

“To deliver excellence in
education to persons who wish to make a career in
